Frequently asked questions

What is the typical waiting time for appointments?

Wait time depends on your availability and what you’re wanting tattooed. Large tattoos typically have longer wait times, as we need multiple appointments on the books. I’m currently looking to book no more than 6 months out, so within that time frame!

What is the typical waiting time for emails?

Expect to be patient. It could take me up to two weeks to respond as I am a one woman show!

If I haven’t heard from you in awhile, can I DM you on Instagram?

Yes! I do not mind this at all. I will not book you through Instagram, but I will answer any questions you have.

What can I expect out of my first email I receive from you?

I will respond to your booking form with all of my booking information and policy information, if your tattoo is accepted. From there I will send over your deposit and get you booked in.

What can I expect after I pay my deposit?

Once the deposit is paid, I will send some dates for you to choose from.

Do I have to pay a deposit in order to book?

Yes. Under no circumstance will I book any appointment without a deposit. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have before paying your deposit.

Do you charge for drawing time for custom pieces?

Yes.

What are your policies?

I require a non-refundable $100 deposit down to book, no matter what the tattoo is. I also require a 72 hour notice of cancellation, for any reason. If you cancel before 72 hours, you will need to put another deposit down to re-book. If you show up more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, this is considered a cancellation and will require another deposit to re-book. I take my policies seriously. I understand that life happens, but I do still need to protect my time.

Do you give quotes?

Yes! You can always DM me on instagram, or email ne. I do charge hourly but I can give you an estimate on how long a tattoo will take me based on size and location

Can I pay for my tattoo in payments?

I don’t have a specific payment plan option, but if you’re looking to budget you can make advanced payments, by purchasing gift cards for your future tattoo. We can also break your tattoo session into two sessions, so linework for the first session and color for the second. This option is also great for budgeting

Do you use Saniderm?

I do not like Saniderm. I prefer Derm-shield which is essentially the same thing. I try to always have some on me for you!

Do you do free touch-ups?

Yes. Each tattoo I do comes with a guarantee one time free touch-up, if needed, within the first year of doing the tattoo. After a year of healing you will pay at regular price to re-do your tattoo.

What do you recommend for healing tattoos?

To keep it short and sweet, your number one job within the first three days is keeping your tattoo clean. I recommend a non-scented antibacterial soap (my favorite is Dr.Bronners, non-scented soap, NO scent) and a non-scented lotion to keep your tattoo moisturized. You can also use whatever typically works for you. Remember, you are NOT medicating your tattoo, you are moisturizing it. I advise my clients to stray from anything that is heavily oily and thick (such as Aquaphor). Always wash your hands before moisturizing or cleaning your tattoo.

Can I see my design before my appointment?

I do not send drawings before your appointment. I used to do this, and it got pretty crazy. I have no problem making small adjustments at the time of your appointment. I assume that in choosing me to be your artist, you trust that I will create something you will love. If you have something very specific, make sure to explain this to me in great detail or schedule a consult beforehand.

Can I book more than one appointment for my larger scale tattoo?

Yes, absolutely. I prefer it this way so that I can get you in sooner rather later to finish your piece. You will need at least two weeks for your tattoo to heal before coming in for another session.

What do you charge?

My minimum is $200. I charge $200/h for custom tattoos, $250 per hour for cover-ups. I also charge square processing fees and tax if you choose to use card

What are your hours?

I work Tuesday-Friday 10am to 4pm. I currently work Saturdays but am looking to no longer work Saturdays starting March 2023.

Where do you work?

I currently work at Valkyrie Tattoo Gallery in Dallas, TX.

4733 Memphis St, Dallas, TX 75207

Where can I park?

Parking is super easy and is available out front and on the street. If you use google maps it will take you to the right place. If you use Apple Maps, it will take you to the other side of the building. It is a white building with a dark grey roof. The glass door you will see “Valkyrie tattoo” as well as lots of plants.

This is my first tattoo, do I need to know anything beforehand?

I highly recommend that you eat before your appointment, and AVOID CAFFEINE. I also like to bring a snack (just in case) and a water with me whenever I get tattooed myself. It is also recommended to avoid caffeine before getting tattooed…and obviously alcohol. Please don't try to shave before your appointment, I will do that for you. Do not be more than 15 minutes late, nor more than 20 minutes early.

Can my friends come with me to get tattoed?

You are allowed one guest during your tattoo. Only one is allowed back, all other guests will have to wait in the lobby. This is based off of health code guidelines.

Why does the shop say its closed ?

The artists at the shop are all by appointment only so many of us work out of normal business hours.

Do you take walk-ins?

I typically do not take walk-ins, as I am usually fully booked. You could walk in on a day that I happen to be available to tattoo you, and I would be happy to do so if I can. As a rule of thumb though, I am by appointment only.

Do you have a cancellation waiting list?

I do not. This can get very unorganized and complicated quick. For cancellations with enough notice, I will post on my Instagram story. Whoever snags it first, snags it first. For last minute cancellations, I will post on my Instagram story that I will be taking walk-ins for all of my posted flash.

Is it possible that my appointment will have to be rescheduled?

Yes. As a mother, unexpected things come up that I have to take care of. As a human, unexpected things come up that make me feel as if I cannot give you the best tattoo possible. I am never thrilled to reschedule people, but it does happen. Sometimes I may ask to also push your appointment time up, or back the day of. When I do reschedule people, I reschedule you within the same month you were booked.
